Weddings at Rupert on Rupert are always going to be a great time, obviously because the space is gorgeous but also because the staff are lovely and create a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. I’m really lucky, a lot of the time when couples enquire with me they use the words “relaxed and fun” when describing their wedding plans, and Lyn and Randall’s wedding encompassed that in spades. They got ready together at home, did their first look nearby with their beautiful pug Olive (the first photo below is the only shot I got of her solo being still, she’s full of beans), they did photos prior to the ceremony so they could spent time with their friends and family straight after the official stuff, their officiant was also a friend, and just generally the day was so easy and low-key but such a high. Also, they got photobombed by a neighbour’s cat who wouldn’t leave us alone for that part of the portrait session so it was basically the best day of my life (patting friendly neighbourhood cats is one of my more serious hobbies.)
Jess and Marsh | Gather and Tailor Warehouse Wedding
Jess and Marsh’s pictures might look a little familiar, that’s because Jess is Dario’s sister and they got married in the same stunning church. Dario and Naomi’s wedding is on the blog and their wedding pictures are featured tons of times on my website, including one of my favourite photos ever in front of the incredible blue doors at St Thomas Aquinas Church, where they got married, and their wedding photos at the Royal Botanic Gardens. I was absolutely stoked to work with Dario and Jess’s family again, they are truly the loveliest people and boy do they know how to have fun!! So many laughs, hilarious, heartfelt speeches and so much incredible dancing. Since Jess and Marsh were getting married at the same church and I was the photographer for both weddings I wanted to make sure their photos weren’t samey (other than the picture in front of the doors of the church which we had to get because it’s iconic and a nod to their fam). These guys had a beautiful industrial wedding venue at Gather and Tailor (10mins from my house, best wedding commute ever!) so we opted to stay away from gardens like last time and stick to more architectural and urban areas, and head to the venue early for some photos in the amazing set up styled by Nudo Events. Jess looks breathtaking in her dress with her natural curls out but I was blown away by Marsh’s suit, it’s unique and perfect on him and I just bloody love everything about it and this amazing couple.
