Backyard weddings hold a special place in my heart, that’s actually how Tegan and Libby found me and I’m so glad they did. Someone posted in a FB group looking for advice on holding a DIY backyard wedding, I commented, Tegan and Libby saw it and reached out and the rest is history. This was such a fun, easy, wholesome day of “work” (it’s crazy I get to call this that!). These two lead their guests through the back fence down a forest path to a stunning little spot where Renee the Celebrant officiated the most hilarious and heartfelt ceremony and the ring bearers adorably presented the rings on bended knee. Tegan and Libby had one of those incredibly sweet meet-cutes where they were introduced to each other by mutual friends but both of them thought the other was out of their league when in actual fact they were both infatuated.
Lyn and Randall's Rupert on Rupert Wedding
Weddings at Rupert on Rupert are always going to be a great time, obviously because the space is gorgeous but also because the staff are lovely and create a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. I’m really lucky, a lot of the time when couples enquire with me they use the words “relaxed and fun” when describing their wedding plans, and Lyn and Randall’s wedding encompassed that in spades. They got ready together at home, did their first look nearby with their beautiful pug Olive (the first photo below is the only shot I got of her solo being still, she’s full of beans), they did photos prior to the ceremony so they could spent time with their friends and family straight after the official stuff, their officiant was also a friend, and just generally the day was so easy and low-key but such a high. Also, they got photobombed by a neighbour’s cat who wouldn’t leave us alone for that part of the portrait session so it was basically the best day of my life (patting friendly neighbourhood cats is one of my more serious hobbies.)
